Sustainability has become an increasingly popular term, often used in various contexts without a clear definition. At Omnee World, we take a focused approach to sustainability by prioritizing high-quality clothing crafted through ethical and sustainable practices, even if it means investing more upfront.

In today's world, the fashion industry is pushing out new clothing day and night, significantly contributing to pollution and waste globally. We aim to inspire brands and consumers to shift away from this fast fashion economy. Instead we advocate for the production and consumption of high quality garments that are made with sustainable materials by ethical factories. Additionally for all of us consumers, wearing the garments we buy for years to come.

The fashion industry's relentless production of low-quality garments has led consumers to buy more and wear less. 60% of the 100 billion garments produced per year are discarded within a year of purchase. Despite the enormous surplus of clothing, billions of clothing remain unworn. Recognizing that fashion is the 4th largest industry in the world, and millions of lives depend on it for survival, it's not a realistic goal to eliminate consumption of new clothing. Instead, we're focused on creating real long-term solutions that prioritize establishing safe and ethical working conditions across all production stages while minimizing environmental harm.

We prioritize ethical production methods over shortcuts or low cost, and strive to create pieces made with integrity, even if it means a longer or more expensive process. Sustainability is our standard, and as we continue creating clothes, we constantly search for new ways to decrease our environmental impact. People are going to continue buying new clothes, there's no stopping that. So we believe in creating a better alternative to fast fashion, one that won't harm the planet.

Fashion is one of the most polluting industries, second only to oil and gas, and the world needs substantial progress. We recognize not all aspects of our business can be environmentally friendly, but we remain committed to transparency regarding our sustainability efforts and areas for improvement, aiming to inspire others to make increasingly sustainable choices, no matter how small.

How Does Omnee World Practice Sustainability?

We only manufacturer with high quality fabrics that are built to last for years. We use natural, organic, and recycled fabrics. As we continue to grow, we plan to fully switch to GOTS Certified Organic Cotton and recycled fabrics.

GOTS certification guarantees that every stage of production, from cotton harvesting to distribution, adheres to strict environmental and ethical criteria.

Organic cotton, made without harmful chemicals, is hypoallergenic and safe for sensitive skin, allergies, and babies. Its cultivation requires 91% less water than conventional cotton, primarily utilizing rainwater stored in healthy soil. Additionally, organic cotton generates almost half (46%) of the greenhouse gas emissions compared to conventionally grown cotton. Handpicked organic cotton yields higher quality, softer, and more durable fabric compared to machine-harvested conventional cotton.

We only work with companies that have been verified and passed business audits, to ensure that employees are not treated poorly. We work with manufacturers that have certifications such as BSCI, OEKO-TEX, SGS, GRS, FSC, SEDEX, ISO 9001 and 14001. As we continue to expand our brand, we aspire to raise the bar even higher by working with Fair Trade Certified factories and conducting in-person factory visits to ensure ethical working conditions.

Planting Trees

We currently plant a tree with each item purchased through our partnership with Eden Reforestation Projects and These reforestation efforts not only support local livelihoods but also contribute to the fight against climate change by extracting CO2 from the air and restoring natural habitats. So far, we've been able to plant over 8,000 trees!

Eco-Friendly Shipping Materials

We ship our products in eco-friendly shipping bags, to minimize our impact on the environment. Our primary mailers are made of 100% recycled plastic, which features a double seal so they can be reused after they are opened. All of our garments are also packed with an eco-friendly paper inner packaging.

Donations and Charity

Since the beginning it's been important to us to give back to our community and to the world. We believe in using our business as a force for good, so we donate money to organizations we believe are making a positive change in the world whenever we can. It's not much, but as we continue to grow we plan to increase our donations and give back as much as possible. So far, we've donated money to:

World Wildlife Foundation

International Animal Rescue

Right 2 Survive

Don't Shoot PDX

Planned Parenthood

If you there are any organizations and non-profits you'd like to bring to our attention please let us know :)

How Can You Be Part of the Solution?

1. Shop Second Hand or Vintage

Shopping vintage and used clothing helps reduce waste and extend the lifetime of clothing. It's one of the most sustainable ways to reduce your environmental impact through fashion.

2. Donate or Recycle your Unwanted Clothes

Instead of discarding unwanted clothing, consider donating them to local charities or thrift stores. Many organizations also offer recycling programs for textiles.

3. Shop Consciously

Support brands that prioritize sustainable and ethical practices, and invest in high-quality garments that you'll cherish for years to come.

4. Repair Your Clothing or Embrace Defects

Don't just toss out an old shirt because it has a hole or a stain. Worn in, distressed, reworked, and repaired clothing is awesome, and it's much better for the environment than buying new clothes.

5. Limit Washing and Drying

Only wash full loads of laundry to eliminate excessive water use. Use cold water and use eco-friendly detergents. Instead of using the dryer, hand dry your clothing when possible.

We recommend to hang dry all Omnee clothing as using the dryer is not only bad for the environment, it causes damage to the fabric overtime that could result in rips, deterioration, fading, or cracking.

Don't wash items of clothing after every single use. Sure there may be some exceptions, like socks and underwear, but if your clothing isn't visibly dirty or stinky, consider wearing it another time before washing. Just use deodorant instead of washing - just kidding, please don't.

Future for Omnee

We're dedicated to increase our sustainability and ethical practices with each new day. We're constantly researching new ways we can improve. Our vision is a zero-waste future.

We made significant improvements on our packaging in 2024, but we still have much more to do. We're working to fully eliminate all virgin plastic, including the shipping labels and stickers. Using only eco-friendly, recyclable or compostable items.

We currently use only natural, organic or recycled fabrics, but we plan to fully switch to organic and recycled materials. Natural fabrics are much better than man-made fabrics, however they still have a significant negative impact on the earth. By only using certified organic and recycled materials, we can ensure our products are as environmentally friendly as possible.
